Blog: “A Blog!? Isn’t This Whole *$#!ing Site A Blog!?”

Technically, yes. This is a WordPress site, and is therefore technically a… I hate this term… “blog”. Jesus Christ, that sounds like I’m coughing something up… “blagh!”. But the focus of Gaming Bus’s main work is news, features, and generally thought-provoking material. I’ve had a Tumblr blog for stuff that I wouldn’t post here, but it had a few problems, most notable of which were the fact that it’s on Tumblr, and was just me; it excluded the rest of the site.

Hence, what you see here. This brings the entire site in-house and off of Tumblr (which was a nice experiment, but ultimately impersonal; people have massive ADD there, much worse than what you’d see on Twitter), which lets the entire team participate as they see fit.

Basically, this is for posts that aren’t quite “serious” enough for the main categories. They’re generally spur of the moment stuff (like the 30 Day Video Game meme), or things that aren’t put to the rigorous editing that our main work is (like my Operation Rainfall missive, which probably just made M. Ngai’s hair catch fire). They can also be added by our entire staff at will.

This will not affect the daily news and feature posting that you already see from Gaming Bus. We will continue to adhere to our mission statement, and our posting capacity will not change because of a blog. This just gives us an additional voice.

Enjoy, and let me know what you think.
