Gaming Bus Live Stream, Vol. 27: Mega Man 2

Welcome to another edition of the Gaming Bus Live Stream. Last week, we had the Nuzlocke Challenge in Pokémon FireRed. I won all the polls by lasting longer than two hours before saying to Hell with this and skipping the Nuzlocke rules altogether with a VERBOTEN catching of a Lv. 3 Pidgey in Route 3. This rose the wails to the high heavens, but I proved definitively one thing: Pokémon is about fun, not dumb challenges. Though everyone had fun at my expense, I compared my fiancée to a Volvo. To me, that’s a fucking compliment!

This week, we take it even more classic than Pokémon: we play Mega Man 2. Mega Man 2 is so good, it’s been used as the model for later Mega Man games 20 years later. After adding the slide, the Mega Buster, and 16-bit graphics, Capcom decided to actually take the series back to Mega Man 2 mechanics with Mega Man 9 and 10—a reboot in every possible way. My personal take is that Mega Man 3 is the best, but it’s not by much. Either way, Mega Man 2 is one of the greatest games of all time, and hopefully, it will be as much of a joy to watch as it is to play.

Come by at 9:30PM EST and watch the fun!
