Gaming Bus Live Stream, Vol. 31: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Welcome to another edition of the Gaming Bus Live Stream. Last week, I played the sublime Shantae, which caused at least three people to buy the iOS version (take that, SOPA!).

This week’s game is another goodie, but unlike Shantae, I’ve actually played and beaten this one: it’s the noted black sheep, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Personally, I’ve always felt Zelda II got a bum rap. It’s not a “classical” Zelda (read: Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening, etc.), so it’s looked at as a similar type of game to another black sheep, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest. But Simon’s Quest wasn’t a very good game. Zelda, if it had been released as some other game, would have stood the test of time as a good game on its own rights. Of course, this could be rose-coloured glasses talking. We’ll find out either way tonight at 9:30PM EST!
