Halo Waypoint has announced that Halo 4 is set for release on November 6, 2012. Taking place after the end of Halo 3, the upcoming title is set to be the start of a new trilogy in the series that continues the story of Master Chief. Unlike the previous Halo games, Halo 4 is being developed by 343 Industries instead of Bungie Studios. Though the press release includes a video made by Rooster Teeth containing Halo 4‘s release date, little else is mentioned about the game itself.
Analysis: Microsoft’s gearing up for a major holiday release here. Their only competition could be another Call of Duty title if it’s released within the same time frame. Otherwise, fans of the series or just FPS games in general will grab a copy, and yet another Halo title will reach the over-one-million-sold mark in record time. This is big for the fans, obviously. Let’s hope the shift in developers doesn’t detract from the game’s quality.
