Gaming Bus Live Stream, Vol. 50: Fruitcake Night Celebration!

Welcome to a special edition of the Gaming Bus Live Stream! Tonight is a special night: It’s volume 50 of the streams!

Ironically, the Live Stream wasn’t always a stream. We started off using something called Cover It Live, which is great when you’re liveblogging an event of some sort a là chat room, but not for a video game that you’re actively playing. Instead of showing the game, I would simply describe it. Talk about a waste! readers went on descriptions of my game, and I had to take time out to cut and paste images in order to show them something.

When I got a better PC for gaming use, I decided to try live streaming instead. This worked better than I thought it would: I was able to play PC games, including PC emulators, and have people watch while I talked over it. The improvement was night-and-day; things were a lot more interactive, and a lot more… comic, as 2011’s Best Of video showed.

Tonight, we’re simply winging it—another Best Of, if you will. I might revisit some of the best games and trends of the first 49 episodes. It’s a classic fruitcake night as we celebrate the things that have made the Gaming Bus Live Stream what it is. Hide your hopes and dreams, ladies!

Tonight, as usual, we start at 9:30PM EST!
